Short Photo Stories

It was late afternoon of the 1st of August 1944 when the city of Warsaw started one of its most remembered fights for freedom and liberation from Nazi Germany. The uprising was intended to last a few days until outside supporting forces arrived, however this never happened.  The city betrayed by its Allies was eventually destroyed almost to the ground.  Well, almost…

The city must completely disappear from the surface of the earth…No stone can remain standing. Every building must be razed to its foundation.” – SS chief Heinrich Himmler

Here there is a few photographs of what you can see today, 70 years later. This is my city.
