FRANCE – the south end

I love France, who doesn’t…  In France however you have to know where to go to get the most of it,  and South of France is definitely such place. “Le Midi” as its called, from the French Riviera to the Pyrenees and the Spanish border, the coast, the beaches, the views, the colours, the food, the wine, the perfumes, the ghosts of old charm and movie stars glamour – in South of France all this is just within your hand’s reach. I would say, whenever you are in France, forget Paris – go south !

CAMBODIA

To me Cambodia almost has it all. Ancient temples among which 12th-century Angkor Wat certainly causes to drop the jaw of the most experienced travellers, unspoiled by commercialism sandy coastline, colonial French buildings and Mekong river running along colourful small villages. If you are interested in recent history, you can learn a lot about Cambodia’s painful past of unthinkable murders committed by the Khmer Rouge in its capital, Phnom Penh. INDIA

India is one of the most intense and difficult to understand countries I have ever visited. Yes, it is colourful, magical, and spiritual and yes, it is unjust, confronting and harsh. PHILIPPINES – Lights, Shadows and all that noise

When I think of Philippines, the first thing which comes to my mind is a beautiful woman who stopped caring of herself and forgot long time ago how beautiful and kind she used to be.  There are surly wonders of nature in Philippines that can take your breath away, lots of European, mostly Spanish influence what is uncommon for Asia and should make this country unique and interesting place to visit, also remarkable architecture including beautiful old churches (Philippines is the only Asian country where Catholicism is main religion). Amongst...

OMAN – best kept secret in Arab Gulf

Oman – this is the country where its residents do not pay taxes, a litre of petrol cost 30 cents and a litre of water cost 35 cents, where  health and education is free, temperature reaches 50 °C (122.0 °F) in hot season, ccoffee is spiced and men are allowed to have up to 4 wives. I have been lucky enough to visit Oman in April this year ,when the temperature is tolerable (hot season is between May and September), experience Omani hospitality and discover the beauty of the country’s landscape. My first...
